June 02, 2004Sturm und Drang, baby![]() Lately it has been coming down in buckets, not non-stop you understand, but in terrible little pulses that drench everything in sight for 10 minutes and then pretend like nothing happened. Also, it has rained. Memorial Day weekend was not relaxing. Not for work, not for my ear infection, not for my sick rabbit, not for Jen in a holding pattern, not for my poor sister who has to answer her cellphone and hear me sing The Doom Song at her at top volume of a Saturday afternoon.
And realistically, I look over that list and realize that, with the exception of Albert, who sees Dr. Metz at 10:40 EST, none of this is serious serious. The Universe will move Jen to where she's supposed to be, work will un-drama, I am lucky enough to live in one of the places and times in history that features antibiotics. And anyway, only one summer reading list has come out: Salon (day pass thing required). I'm hoping others (Bookslut, The Telegraph, MSNBC, Bookmunch? I'm looking at you) quickly follow suit. Send me others that I may have missed; a day without book lists is a day without sunshine. Oh my updates make no sense, follow no logic. I really need to have finished at least one cup of coffee prior to writing anything down. |
