November 16, 2006The SweaterWhen knitting goes terribly, terribly wrong, Case #412: I started knitting myself a sweater sometime in the spring of 2003. A stripey purple sweater with lovely velvety nylon yarn from a shop in downtown San Francisco. After screwing up the hem, fixing the hem, screwing up the hem fix, putting the sleeves in backwards and upside down and making pretty much every other conceivable mistake, I finished it up last weekend. Since spring of 2003, I have gained 3 solid inches around my chest and shoulders. |
